I am very happy to announce that I signed a contract today with publishing house De Geus to translate Aimé Césaire’s ‘Discours sur le colonialisme’. ‘Discours sur le colonialisme’ was first published in 1950 and is a seminal essay when it comes to Decolonial Theory. This will be the first time that this book will be translated to Dutch. One of the first papers I ever wrote as an undergrad student was about Négritude, and ‘Discours sur le colonialisme’, so it is an immense honor to now be able to translate it and bring it to a wider Dutch-speaking audience. I hope many young Black students will get to discover and appreciate Aimé Césaire’s work like I did.

Congratulations!
